Andrew Montgomery, B.Sc.;M.Sc.;J.D.

Andandrew-montgomery-lgrew has enjoyed a lengthy career in natural resources management, environmental policy development and in the practice of law. He earned his B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and his M.Sc. from the University of Guelph. Andrew obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. While studying law, he won three academic awards including the Donald Kerr prize for highest achievement in Admiralty Law, the Elkanah Rafuse prize in Family Law and a prize in the study of Alternate Dispute Resolution. Andrew graduated from the Schulich School of Law with a specialty certificate in Marine and Environmental Law. He has worked in both the public and private sectors in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Andrew has a Certificate in Negotiation and  Conflict Management from Henson College and the Schulich School of Law.  He has served as a mediator in the labour context and has also been asked to serve as an independent investigator in serious cases of workplace conflict.

Andrew’s law practice has focused in the areas of insurance defense law, municipal law, labor and employment law, commercial law, civil litigation, university law, fisheries law and the law of non-profit organizations.

Andrew is a former Partner and former Managing Partner of one of the oldest, largest  and most successful law firms in Nova Scotia outside the Halifax Regional Municipality. His primary interest today, is in making quality legal services more affordable to all clients.
